Spectacular Whale Watching in Victoria, British Colombia | 1-Hour of Wonderous Adventure Music

We're docking in Victoria, British Colombia. Part of Canada, it's likely the only international stop you'll be making should you opt for an Alaskan Cruise. This was our last stop aboard Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas, and the shortest. It's unlikely you'll be able to do more than one thing at this port of call, but chances are, that one thing will be some whale watching.

Victoria is renowned for its whale watching, and for this excursion we hopped on a small vessel belonging to Orca Spirit Adventures. If you're worried about seeing whales on one of these adventures, know that this is highly unlikely. The boats communicate with each other regarding locations and track pods throughout the day. On this journey, we came across two killer whale (orca) pods, and one grey whale. The grey whale, however, was too distant to see anything beyond its water spout.

If you opt for whale watching, do keep in mind that it gets very cold on these small boats. There are heated interiors, but on deck, you're looking at windy conditions and sub-40 degrees Fahrenheit in some cases. Dress accordingly.
