• How did they maintain power, manufacture cohesion, or ultimately collapse?
• And what meaningful parallels can we draw to the real world?

Fiction often illustrates political ideas better than political theory itself, because storytellers must depict the practical mechanics: the uniforms, the bureaucracy, the propaganda, the internal logic, and the unintended consequences. That’s what makes this lens so powerful.

For the first episode, I’m looking at the New Order from Star Wars — arguably the most accurate and well-rounded portrayal of fascism in any major fictional universe. It captures both the ideological virtues and the disastrous vices, making it a perfect starting point.
