What a great urban hike in downtown Richmond, Virginia. I started at the Richmond Parks and Rec entrance by Legends Brewing Company. This takes you down under the Manchester Bridge and puts you on the Floodwall Trail which takes you on top of the floodwall for great views of the James River and downtown Richmond. Then follow the trail below the floodwall. You run into the Slave Trail from there. I actually kept going and went down to Ancarrow's Landing and hiked the bike trail there too and then turned around and came back. On the way back I went across the new Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge that goes across the river over to Browns Island. That bridge has spectacular views of the river city, Belle Isle, and the Belle Isle Suspension Bridge under The Robert E Lee Bridge. I hiked a total of 8.5 miles.
