The USC Center for Religion and Civic Culture asked faith and community leaders to share their reflections on Los Angeles' 1992 Civil Unrest and the rebuilding efforts that followed.

When the not-guilty verdict was read in the case of the police officers that beat Rodney King, Capri Maddox was at the LA Police Department, getting fingerprinted for a background check for her new job at the LA Housing Department. She made it home through protests. Today, she is executive director of the Los Angele Civil and Human Rights and Equity Department. In this video she shares one of her lessons learned from the 1992 Civil Unrest.
