2024 Muni Heritage Weekend Day 2 - 2002 ETI 14TrSF

heritage weekend continues, and the first historic vehicle i rode today was the ETI 14TrSF! also a fan favorite, the ETIs were major workhorses for muni for pretty much two decades. from their unique czech styling to their incredible sounding motors, the people of SF have loved these trolleybuses for as long as they’ve existed. the 14TrSF made its heritage debut in 2022, and has continued to be one of the more popular coaches the event has to offer. 5538 was repainted to this original livery before heritage weekend 2022, and it looks amazing! i was thrilled to see some of the announcements working; “please hold on” plays in the beginning. this round trip was 1000x better than the E800 trip i was on yesterday, as we did not dewire at all on the outbound trip (only dewired twice heading back in the inbound direction). the operator was heavy-footed with the throttle, and the motor sounded absolutely incredible at high speeds! i’d say my ETI ride this year was a success!
