The Manimahesh Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage to the foot of the Manimahesh Kailas located in the Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh. Manimahesh is supposed to have been created by Shiva after his marriage to Parvati. The name Manimahesh signifies the crystal/gem that sits on top of Shiva’s (Mahesh) head. No one has ever been able to reach the summit of Manimahesh and it remains a mystery to human eyes.

MANIMAHESH TREK DETAIL
The trek starts from the village of Hadsar that is a small distance away from Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh. From Hadsar, the route leads to the hill village of Dancho. This trek can be undertaken even by amateur climbers as the slope is gradual and not very difficult. Here you can also find beautiful views of the Valley of Flowers and short bushy shrubs that have medicinal values.

Manimahesh Yatra Route

Manimahesh Yatra lasts for a total of 15 - 20 days and begins on the day of Janamasthmi also known as ‘Chota Snan’. It ends on the day of Radha Ashtami, also known as ‘Bada Snan’. There are three routes through which you can undertake this rive 
Bharmani Mata temple complex is at the top of the ridge, 4km away from the Bharmour. The place is mainly known for Goddess Bharmani Mata. When Lord Shiva went to Manimahesh Kailash granted a boon to goddess Bharmani Devi that all persons intending to go on pilgrimage to Manimahesh must have a dip in their holy pool. Failing this, their pilgrimage would not be acceptable to Lord Shiva. That’s by every visitor firstly take bath in Bharmani’s holy pool before Manimahesh Lake.

Shrikhand Mahadev trek is a pilgrim trail that leads to the Shrikhand Mahadev peak named after Lord Shiva. This trek can be done either from the Nirmand side or the Arsu side.

2.The Manimahesh Kailash Peak, 5,653 metres, also known as Chamba Kailash, which stands towering high over the Manimahesh Lake, is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, the. It is located in the Bharmour subdivision of the Chamba district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. 

3.The Kinnaur Kailasha is a mountain in the Kinnaur district of the Indian state Himachal Pradesh. Kinnaur Kailash has a height of 6050 meters and is considered sacred by both Hindu and Buddhist Kinnauris. This mountain is sometimes confused with the Mount Kailash in Tibet

Adi Kailash, also known as Shiva Kailash, Chota Kailash, Baba Kailash or Jonglingkong Peak, is a mountain located in the Himalayan mountain range in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, India.

5.Mount Kailash, is a 6,638 m high peak in the Kailash Range, which forms part of the Transhimalaya in the Ngari Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, China.
