Legendary Music Director Khemchand Prakash Gave the first major break to Kishore Kumar as a singer

खेमचंद प्रकाश ने पहले से स्थापित गायक-कलाकारों के साथ भी अनूठे गीत दिए और नए सिंगर्स को भी स्थापित करने में अहम् भूमिका निभाई।

ये ठीक है कि किशोर कुमार ने पहली बार फ़िल्म शिकारी में अपनी आवाज़ दी थी जिसमें उन्होंने अभिनय भी किया था। पर उस गाने को किशोर दा का गाना नहीं कहा जा सकता क्योंकि उसमें अमीरबाई कर्नाटकी और जी एस नेपाली की भी आवाज़ें थी। ज़िद्दी फ़िल्म में गाया गाना "मरने की दुआएं क्यों माँगूँ" उनका पहला सोलो सांग है और इसे गाने का मौक़ा उन्हें खेमचंद प्रकाश ने ही दिया था।

लता मंगेशकर भी पहले काफ़ी गाने गा चुकी थीं मगर महल में गाये गीत "आएगा आने वाला" से वो रातों रात मशहूर हो गई थीं। और उन्हें इस फिल्म में गवाने का श्रेय भी संगीतकार खेमचंद प्रकाश को ही जाता है।
