Deepcar to Oughtibridge A Railway Walk

Описание к видео Deepcar to Oughtibridge A Railway Walk

Following on from our walk from Wortley to Deepcar, we continue along the former Woodhead Route to Oughtibridge.
Although lines are still down, this section is now out of use, formerly being used for access to a steelworks at Stocksbridge. There were also branches off to brickworks and a paper mill.
There are still a lot of reminders of it's past use along here. It is hoped to use this route to extend the Sheffield Supertram to Fox Valley Retail park. Many of these relics will be lost forever if this happens.
When the railways came along the station at Oughtibridge was named Oughty Bridge for some reason.
