Dead Air Broadcast opens the album with a slow, hollow drift. Detuned analogue pads smear across the stereo field like fog, while a thin layer of radio hiss and distant crackle gives the whole track that late night, nobody is listening energy. The drums barely exist, just soft, distant thumps that feel like they are coming from another room. Soft vocals float on top, half whispered and heavy in the reverb, more like a transmission than a performance. Melodies move in small, mournful steps and never quite lift off. It is the sound of a dead frequency that refuses to switch off.
