Dr. Addy will present recent research findings on the neurobiological underpinnings of substance use and mood disorders. He will also describe studies identifying novel pharmacotherapeutic targets for comorbid substance use and mood disorders. In addition, Dr. Addy will discuss integrated mental health approaches that incorporate insights from neuroscience and psychology with faith, culture, and social justice. At the completion of the session, attendees will be able to identify the outcomes of this integrated, holistic mental health approach and the benefits for trainees, practitioners, researchers, clients, and society.
