The LRO Straightline Challenge: off-roading with a Land Rover Series III and Sankey trailer

You know those discussions you have over a few drinks where you wonder if you can drive from one place to another in a straight line? Well, this is the result of one such ideas. We talked about using a winch challenge truck, but why make life easy – so we opted for an ex-military 109-inch Series III. And to make it even tougher, attached a Sankey trailer to it.
We prepped the Land Rover by slapping a coat of paint on it and bolting the Goodwinch TDS winch to it. We even deflated the tyres a little – though maybe we should have paid a bit more attention to the engine as it was suffering from fuel starvation a bit...
