Please join us on a walking tour of Knaresborough Castle & Court House in North Yorkshire build on the Cliff overlooking the River Nidd. The 1st Castle was built by Norman Baron around 1100. In 1204 King John took possession of the Castle & Forest gaining a base for his favourite sport of hunting, and a well place stronghold from which to control the rebellious barons in the North of England. Today very little of the Castle survives but was the main military & administrative centre in the North of its time
