A fire and a powerful blast have ripped through a small cargo ship in the Philippine capital.

Six were killed after and many homes damaged after the flames spread to a nearby slum.

It was not immediately clear what triggered the fire, which raged for about seven hours. aboard the MV Titan 8.

The crew of the MV Titan 8 were forced to jump overboard due to the rapidly spreading fire. At least two crewmen who were on the vessel when the fire began remain unaccounted for.
