Validating an OTDR trace.

In this video, I will walk through my process to quickly validate an OTDR trace. I will look at the launch conditions of the OTDR port, how does my FDP look? Am I shooting with too long a pulse width, is there too much noise? Am I over saturating my results? There are things that as a tester while you are in front of the patch panel you can verify to ensure that you are getting good results. There is nothing worse than an additional truck roll because of a dirty panel that could have been resolved in seconds while onsite during testing. Hopefully, this 10–15-minute video will give you the skills to save hundreds of labor hours going forward.
