A look back to a time when the AC electric services to and from London Euston were still very much in their infancy. The AL1 - AL6 classes of locomotives dominated the scene on both freight and passenger services having displaced their class 40 predecessors during the mid 1960s. The newly-built Euston station was controversially rebuilt at this time and the Arch and the Great Hall were demolished to accommodate the electrified West Coast Main Line. The revamped station still attracts criticism over its architecture.
