Slakoth is an absolute stinker and is VERY rare. I HIGHLY recommend eating a Ham Sandwich via Picnicking (boosts Normal type encounters) before you go hunting. Keep an eye on the trees for its body, or just start bashing them all until it falls out. I finally found it in some of the more southern trees, though supposedly it's further north too!
