The Posterior Triangle is divided by the omohyoid muscle into an upper Occipital Triangle and a lower Supraclavicular Triangle. Its boundaries are the posterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle anteriorly, the anterior border of the trapezius muscle posteriorly, and the middle third of the clavicle inferiorly. The roof consists of skin, superficial fascia, and the investing layer of deep cervical fascia, while the floor is formed by prevertebral fascia covering the splenius capitis, semispinalis capitis, levator scapulae, and scalene muscles.

Boundaries
Anterior Boundary: The posterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.
Posterior Boundary: The anterior border of the trapezius muscle.
Inferior Boundary (Base): The middle third of the clavicle.
Roof: The superficial fascia and the investing layer of the deep cervical fascia.
Floor: Several muscles, including the splenius capitis, semispinalis capitis, levator scapulae, and scalene muscles, covered by prevertebral fascia.
Divisions
The inferior belly of the omohyoid muscle crosses the posterior triangle, dividing it into two smaller triangles:
1. Occipital Triangle:
Boundaries: Inferior belly of the omohyoid muscle, trapezius muscle, and sternocleidomastoid muscle.
2. Supraclavicular (or Subclavian) Triangle:
Boundaries: Inferior belly of the omohyoid muscle, the clavicle, and the sternocleidomastoid muscle.
