F-350 Fuel Water Separator Clean Out!! [[2008 Ford 6.4L Diesel]]

Описание к видео F-350 Fuel Water Separator Clean Out!! [[2008 Ford 6.4L Diesel]]

This has been on my to do list for a long time. Ever since someone with a truck like mine, told me their fuel water separator clogged up and left them stranded. At that time I didn’t even know that was possible. Since then, it has always been in the back of my mind every time we go on a trip. I am the type of person who wants everything tip top shape before I embark on a long trip. This has been driving me crazy, but I continued to put it off. Mainly because I knew without a lift it was going to be a bath in diesel fuel.
I tried to plan this project out ahead of time. The last time I changed the fuel filters I got absolutely covered in diesel. It gushed out everywhere and seemingly was not going to stop. At that time I had about a half a tank of fuel. This time I ran it all the way down to almost empty. I also let the fuel water separator drain for about ten minutes before I started taking stuff apart. This was the ticket. I still got fuel all over me, but it was so much better than last time.
Thankfully this project was not to bad. The only hiccup I had was removing the fuel lines. I didn’t know at the time, but I had to go out and buy fuel line removal tools. They were only about $12, so not the end of the world. Once I had the proper tools I was good to go.
I did have some trouble ordering the correct gasket and drain cock. You can find them multiple places, but the cost is all over the place. As always I went with Amazon. My only issue with that was I couldn’t find a Motorcraft drain cock. Against my better judgment, I settled with a off brand. Thankfully I received the correct parts and all was well. At least so far.
Reinstalling the new gasket was a bit tricky. Due to being packed in a tiny bag, there was no way to make it stay in place. Therefore I had to break out the trusty spray adhesive. I put a light coat on the gasket. Then laid it in place. After a few seconds we were good to go.
With my knowledge level on this project, I was not comfortable doing a “How To”. I felt it was better to just do a what I did and worked for me. My hope is someone can see how it works and it will help them. I hope that everyone understands where I am coming from and finds something helpful. Thank you to everyone for watching, commenting, and subscribing!
