Sakhubai gives her allies the assurance that Tatya Dixit would never betray them as, rather than being avaricious, he was merely seeking revenge for the king's disdain. She claims that since today was the fortunate day for the king and queen's marriage to be consummated, he would kill the king tonight. Sakhubai and her allies watch as Malcolm's men lay spears on the riverbed in an attempt to murder Gangadhar when he comes to take a bath in the pond.
