For today’s Maximising Efficiency, Max Whiteley and George Wells are making sure you get the most out of Dext’s duplicate detection!

Dext does a fantastic job of handling duplicates, but many users aren’t taking full advantage of it. 👀 That’s why we’ve made a key update to the default setting for all new accounts.

Here’s how Dext helps you manage duplicates:
🚀 Automatic (Old Default) – Duplicate items are automatically deleted once detected (they can still be retrieved from the submission history).
🔍 Review (New Default) – You’ll get a notification in the Costs inbox when an item is a suspected duplicate. You can then review and decide.
🚫 OFF – No duplicate detection at all.

Previously, all new accounts were set to Automatic, but moving forward, Review will be the new default! (Existing accounts remain unchanged.)

You can apply these settings client-wide or customise them for each supplier using supplier rules.
