From the playlist of Barry’s inaugural CD of both himself and the now famous Wehmeier studio Wurlitzer in Cincinnati Ohio and released in 1995. “It Ain’t Necessarily So” is a well known song from George & Ira Gershwin’s immortal opera Porgy and Bess. It is sung by the opera’s main antagonist, Sportin Life a gambler, pimp and all around con-man who is continually trying to put a wedge between the beautiful Bess and the man who truly loves her, Porgy who is an unfortunate cripple. Porgy doesn’t have much to offer her except for his undying love, devotion and an undying will to protect her from the likes of Sportin Life. The original 1995 recording was captured by recording engineer Bill Lightner. Transfer of audio with light enhancements performed on the Spire Studio unit with video/audio production crafted on Apple’s iMovie app.
