Italian Air Force Eurofighter F-2000A Typhoon - Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2016 (Sunday)

Sunday's show at the Royal International Air Tattoo 2016, saw another display from the Italian Air Force Eurofighter F-2000 Typhoon.

The Eurofighter 2000 prototype first took to the air in 1994. Known by most of its operators as the Typhoon, this formidable multi-role combat aircraft is in service not only with the air forces of Eurofighter partner nations Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, but also those of Austria and Saudi Arabia. The Italian Air Force, which calls the aircraft the F-2000A (or TF-2000A in the case of two-seat versions), has five operational F-2000A squadrons within three wings. Upgraded Tranche 3 variants of the Typhoon are now rolling off the Italian production line at Turin-Caselle and entering service with the country's air force. One example operated by the RSV at Pratica di Mare Air Base will be taking part in the flying display at RIAT 2016, with a second airframe part of the static aircraft line up.
