Live from the Undercover Policing Inquiry hearings, immediate summary and reaction from Tom Fowler - host of the Spycops Info podcast and a core participant at the Undercover Policing Inquiry.

This video was made in the afternoon break of Wednesday 5 November 2025 during the ninth day of 'Tranche 3 Phase 1', examining the Special Demonstration Squad 1993-2008.

It's the first of four days questioning Special Demonstration Squad officer HN16 James Thomson. He has been alleging that the animal rights activists he spied on were heavily into serious violence against people. But he can give no examples, and can't explain why he didn't mention it at the time in the reports that were the purpose of his job, nor in his written statements to the Inquiry. He is a liar, making it up as he goes along.

Tom is joined by Pat from Veggies and the Sumac Centre, and 'Alison' from Police Spies Out of Lives.

Alison expands on how Thomson fits the predatory mould of his contemporaries and mentors in the unit who also abused women. The Special Demonstration Squad was a grooming gang.
