This well-known wind musical instrument is made of wood as a #clarinet, according to experts in this art , it is 12 to 15 cm long, with ten holes and a reed mouthpiece. Music scholars note that the chirimía is a type of oboe of Spanish Arab origin that is used by minstrels and the peninsular army, especially during the 16th and 17th centuries.
In the Catholic temples of the Audience of Quito it was used to double the song and a point of view was established that continues in the towns of the provinces of Azuay and Cañar such as #Baños , where it is heard at celebrations, ceremonies, among other public events, such as those of the Skirmish, Easter, and other manifestations of art and popular religion.
