Rhode Island is the smallest state in the US, known for its unique geography and colonial charm. Despite it being smaller in area than some American counties, the Ocean State's long history is one of the oldest and most influential in the nation. In order to make a splash with our debut into our 14th state on the Coverage Project, I knew just had to arrive at its capital, largest city, and one of the best havens of New England culture out there. Providence is a city which prides itself on its historical and religious legacy, and a multitude of higher education institutions. Founded on the backs of religious refugees in the mid-1600s, this city is now the 3rd largest in all of New England. The colonial influence is everywhere here, from the brick-built campus of Brown University, to the confusing web layout of narrow streets in the city center. Let us give an open welcome to Providence as our newest addition to the Coverage Project archive. We go to prominent areas like the bustling downtown and the state capitol, we admire the preserved architecture of Rhode Island's colonial days, and we even try a few staples of New England cuisine, it's a jam packed day. Ready for it all here in the PVD?
