The Pros and Cons of an Underground Castle | Going Medieval

Going Medieval lets you build underground castles, what are the pros and cons of setting up your village as a bunch of mole people?

I'm sure everyone has wondered if they could build their entire base underground when they saw how deep Going Medieval allows you to mine. But how can you carve out a cavern large enough to fit an entire base, and wouldn't it be better to stay living on the surface anyway?

Pro: It looks pretty awesome when you zoom below the first earth layer and your entire base gets revealed at once. Also, the lighting effects of torches looks great.

Con: Item selection and camera position get pretty messy when you have things on many different ground levels.

Pro: Defending an underground castle is very easy, and you don't have to worry about raiders with trebuchets.

Con: You have to be extra careful about keeping your villagers from trying to run above ground during a raid.

Pro: You can control the temperature in your cavern to keep your villagers comfortable.

Con: You have to manage braziers individually to adjust the temperature across your castle.

Pro: You can get your crops to grow year round.

Con: Storage space and expansion in general is slow.
