side comments: Spencer Smith played a HUGE part in designing this tour. Also, the last half of 2006 was absolutely incredible with its elaborate national tours, but it was just a moment in time. All four band members moved on to try different things. Ryan & Jon were super over this kind of theatrical drama by the time they were writing the second album and even made dismissive comments as though the Fever era circus stuff was something silly that they had done to compensate for their lack of experience. Brendon & Spencer created their own version of P!ATD in 2009 and brought back some theatrical flair because Ryan & Jon were gone... but yeah, the current band is different from 2006. I think people would accuse Brendon of "copying" the Fever era or not having any originality if he tried to recreate something like the Nothing Rhymes With Circus Tour. I don't think his band has much to do with the pre-split band aside from the name and a few songs, so I'll just appreciate what we got in 2006 and let him to do his own thing without comparing the two.
