In this week's ‘Ryan vs.’, Ryan takes on another course at Rosapenna Golf resort ( @Rosapenna1893 ), Old Tom Morris Golf Links' par 3, 14th hole, 175 yards. Old Tom Morris was built by the legendary Old Tom Morris ( @OldTomMorris_ ) in 1893 after taking a vacation to the area in 1891 and seeing its potential. Word spread of the area's greatness and attracted many others to take a pilgrimage to the Rosapenna, amongst those to follow were two other great golfing champions Harry Vardon and James Braid (in 1906) who won 11 Open Championship titles between them. They added length and more detailed bunkering but were wise enough to leave those wonderful natural greens untouched. Further changes were made by the great H.S. Colt of Pine Valley in 1912, building/editing at least 11 holes.

The 14th hole is a beautiful par 3 the marks the official turn to head back to the club house. A tee box set along the water, hitting to green nestled with the lush rolling hills, this hole might seem straight away but is anything but. With the wind swirling and fescue, dunes and bunkers a-plenty, a good tee shot is a must here. The green is rather large with some room behind, so much better to be long than short!
