Описание к видео Tool Storage-To Help You Become Mechanically Inclined

Are you mechanically Declined, and you want to become Mechanically Inclined. Where to keep your tools?

Tool storage is something you should plan out as you start collecting tools. But where do you put your first tools? That depends on what tools you get first. If you get some screwdrivers and a hammer first, you might just dedicate a drawer in the kitchen or other room to them. Some will call this their junk drawer, but that can be a mistake because the tools will get lost in the junk. Tool storage should keep the tools handy and you should be able to see if something is missing, so you can go find it before it is lost forever.

Some will get peg board and mount it to a wall so the tools can be hung up and they will be easy to see. This works for many people, but not everyone has the space to rack the tools on a wall.

After collecting many tools, some will invest in a tool box or cabinet or a roll around cart with drawers. This can get expensive, as these tool storage monuments can cost thousands of dollars and have so many places to stash tools you can end up loosing a tool in the tool storage itself. If you have so many tools that you need one of these you are not mechanically declined, but you may be suffering from Tool Acquisition Syndrome TAS. I myself am recovering from this so I have to limit my tool acquisitions to what I really need and have space for.

TAS symptoms are buying tools that are really cool but you have no use for. Finding a tool in your box that you forgot you bought, and it's still in the package from 3 years ago. You go to yard sales and estate sales just to look at the tools, and walk out with tools you didn't know you needed, and still don't need. Your ideal tool storage solution from last month, is not keeping up with your tool purchases.

Another tool storage type is the bag, box and bucket storage. Tool bags can be small or large, some will fit into a 5 gallon bucket and turn it into an organized tool storage. These can be very handy, because you can set up specific bags for specific tasks. For example: I currently use this method of tool storage, and I have a tool bag for most mechanical work, one for electrical work, one for plumbing work, a bag for battery powered tools, a large box for corded power tools, several boxes and bags with supplies for each of the primary types of work.

This makes it easy to grab the bag with the correct tools in it for the job at hand. It's easier to store the bags in the car and in the basement storage of the motorhome. It has the down side of some tools have to be duplicated for multiple bags, such as screw drivers and some pliers and wire cutters.

Good Tool Storage Tips
It keeps your tools available to use
It protects your tools from loss
It should be easy to put tools away

Bad Tool Storage Dangers
Too many places to look for a tool
Tools are not easy to put away so are left out
Missing tools are not noticed until much time has passed
Multiple copies of the same tool, cost extra to buy and maintain.
