A Tale of Two Martins ;-) Two #3 Bore Deluxe Martin Committees! ACB Trumpet Showdown Video

Описание к видео A Tale of Two Martins ;-) Two #3 Bore Deluxe Martin Committees! ACB Trumpet Showdown Video

[Links in description] Not every day that we get two large bore Deluxe Martin Committees into the shop! One is in raw brass, from about 1947, and one is in lacquer, from about 1957. The Martin Committee is sort of the "holy grail" for small group jazz playing, and these horns will work great in a big band section as well. They're also surprisingly good for commercial playing with a high compression mouthpiece. It's hard to say which of these horns I like better, they're both so much fun to play!

It's so cool to have two of these horns in stock to compare. Let me know what differences you hear in the comments!

The one in raw brass has been overhauled, so you'll see some repair marks on the bell flare and bell bow. The valves have been rebuilt and have excellent compression. This one has a slightly darker sound, which probably has to do with the brass inner slides (vs nickel inner slides on the lacquered horn). It does have the nickel trim that signifies the Deluxe model. It's a really wonderful player!

The lacquered one looks to be in original condition. There are a couple very small dents, and the valves haven't been rebuilt. This one will play best with a heavier oil. The sound is a little bit brighter, which is actually a good thing when it comes to Committees because the model is so dark to begin with.
