Ancient grains, such as buckwheat, sorghum, and millet are excellent nutritional options on a whole food plant-based diet. Especially if you are a gluten-free vegan, I find it extremely helpful to explore different whole-grain varieties. In this video, I present 6 of my favorite gluten-free whole ancient grains, and how I use them on a healthy WFPB diet. If you are striving to eat a healthy diet, using different ancient grains in your daily meals will significantly boost your nutrition. Since becoming gluten-free 11 years ago due to celiac disease, or gluten intolerance, I have come across a variety of whole-grain options, such as sorghum, teff, buckwheat, millet, red quinoa, and whole oat groats. I use these ancient grains regularly in my salads, Buddha bowls, stir fry, porridge, cereal, pancakes, muffins, and a number of other healthy recipes. By watching this video, I hope to inspire you to try a variety of these whole ancient grains in your favorite plant-based meals.
