Obama's pivot to Asia: A success or failure?

It has been almost eight years since Barack Obama was elected as the 44th President of the United States. He will be remembered for his leadership both in America and abroad. Most recently, Obama sought to recalibrate his foreign policy to Asia. He promised the US would play a leadership role in Asia for decades to come. But one of America's most important allies in the region, the Philippines, has recently distanced itself from Washington, and strengthened ties with neighboring Asian powers. And an increased US navy presence has only raised military tensions in the South China Sea. Is his policy of "Pivot to Asia" threatening to backfire? We speak with former US ambassador Stapleton Roy for his thoughts on Obama's diplomatic legacy.
