International School – What will students create from clay prints of park objects?

Clay Frottages – Let’s make clay prints of our town, park and school!

This video shows the day (Dec. 1, 2020) that students from Osaka International School of Kwansei Gakuin took an off-campus learning trip to the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park.
They interacted with potters and staff members, and the students, who were full of curiosity, asked many questions. Employing all five senses at full capacity, the students enjoyed the works they produced making use of the entire park.

Frottages (French) are a type of art created by placing paper on uneven surfaces and using pencils or other drawing utensils to make rubbings of the objects’ textures and shapes. In this workshop, instead of pencils, students used clay to make prints of objects.
