Hi all. I decided it was a good idea to do another visit to East Midlands this summer and make the most of the late evenings while they're here, of which are slowly getting shorter now day by day as Summer progresses towards Autumn, fortunately, unlike my last visit in June the weather gods had responded to our prayers and gave us clear skies and sunshine for a lovely golden sunset, and it was beautiful! Relatively warm for summer too, topping at 23 degrees, which hasn't been seen much so far this July/August!
It was a very nice evening anyway, and we got to meet up with a good friend / spotter, Owen Gunn, of whom's channel is below! That made this trip a highlight for me. Some footage in this is slightly shakey/wobbly as my tripod wasn't working as it usually does, I apologise for that, and hope you enjoy the video anyway
It was also nice to see an incident in the form of a rejected take off and go around due to an indication of an engine fire on the Thomas Cook A321, I thought it was surprising the pilot decided to try a second attempt without returning to stand as well! It was also nice to see the DHL 757 doing touch and go circuits, something I don't see every day. We also tried out another spot near the DHL Apron and 09 threshold so we could get some night footage of movements, including 2 757F's and an A300! I thought it came out great!
Video includes: Ryanair 737's, Jet2 737-800's and 300's, Thomas Cook A321's, Thomson 737's, Flybe Q400's, BMI E145, RVL Cessna 310's, West Atlantic 737-300, 400 and BAE ATP, DHL A300's, 757's and 767's, Etihad Cargo 777, Aerologic 777, UPS 767, Star Air 767.
For those who don't want to watch the whole video, and came here purely for the cargo movements, they pretty much start consecutively around 50 minutes in, before that is pretty much commercial aircraft, which includes the Aborted landing, 757 circuits etc. I did feature quite a few Ryanair's taxiing past as I thought the lighting coming off them looked beautiful myself
