SEMICON Taiwan’s first ever U.S. Pavilion is organized by the U.S. Commercial Service team at the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT). The U.S. Commercial Service is the investment and trade promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Through SEMICON Taiwan, AIT aims to foster enhanced cooperation between U.S. firms, Taiwan companies, and the Taiwan authorities, while at the same time highlight exciting investment opportunities in the semiconductor industry in the United States.
In August 2022, U.S. President Joe Biden signed into law the CHIPS and Science Act with the goal of rebuilding the domestic semiconductor industry in the United States and strengthening global supply chains. Fast forward to today, the legislation has announced several high-impact industry development projects across the U.S. that will require materials inputs from trusted partners like Taiwan. The U.S. Pavilion at SEMICON Taiwan will serve as a platform for those valuable introductions and interactions to take place.

The U.S. Pavilion will comprise exhibitors from eight state representative offices including Arizona Commerce Authority, Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade, Empire State Development, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, North Carolina Economic Development Partnership, Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Washington Office of Economic Development & Competitiveness, State of Texas Taiwan Office. In addition, the U.S. Pavilion will feature innovative U.S. technology companies – Bechtel , Johnstech International, LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Texwipe, which will exhibit their latest technology solutions for export to Taiwan.

SEMICON Taiwan 首次設立的美國館由美國在台協會（AIT）的商務組負責籌組。商務組是隸屬美國商務部的投資和貿易機構。透過 SEMICON Taiwan，AIT 主要的目的在促進美國公司、台灣公司和台灣公部門之間的合作，同時突顯在美國半導體產業中的投資機會。
2022 年 8 月，美國總統拜登簽署了晶片與科學法案，目的是重建美國國內的半導體產業並加強全球供應鏈。到目前爲止，該法案在全美範圍內已經宣佈了多個高影響力投資案，這些投資案需要來自與台灣這樣的可信賴供應鏈夥伴合作。SEMICON Taiwan 的美國館將作為這些重要介紹和互動的平台。
