NECR Rte 14 Royalton Bridge Replacement

Описание к видео NECR Rte 14 Royalton Bridge Replacement

Engineers Construction Incorporated (ECI) was contracted by the Vermont Department of Transportation (VTrans) to replace the New England Central (NECR) bridge 35.01 that passes over route 14 in Royalton, Vermont. In 2023 ECI started installation of drilled shafts, precast abutments, embankment widening, drainage / site / road work, installation of a temporary ballast-deck bridge, and construction of the permanent 127’ long, 470,000-pound through-girder bridge off to the side of the site. ECI had 3 shutdowns and a full season of work in 2023, all to prepare for the final construction of the new railroad bridge and new route 14 underneath it, to be completed during a combined 134-hour rail shutdown and 21-day highway closure.
I have photographed a small segment of the work to include the day the last train crossed the temporary bridge on the 9th of June 2024, the day the new bridge was moved into place on the 13th of June 2024 and an Amtrak train crossing the new bridge while the road was receiving the final coat of pavement on the 15h of August 2024. Here are some pictures of a few parts of the process for you to enjoy.
