Doing the Sephiroth Challenge with Fox on Easy. Why him? Well...
A confused Fox stood on one side of the cubic floor while a just-as-confused Sephiroth stood on the other side. "So why the heck am I even facing this guy?" Fox asked.
"Oh, there was a little glitch in the system, you see," Chris explained, standing away from the platform. "Long story short, the selector got confused between you and Cloud, so it ended up picking you instead of him because, well..."
"Because...?" Fox asked, folding his arms, expression annoyed.
"...I think it chose you by accident because it just so happens your last name has 'Cloud' in it, so the buggy system must have confused you for Cloud," Chris explained, looking a bit embarrassed by the outcome.
"..."
No one said anything about the fact. Fox only grunted a bit louder. Sephiroth quietly cleared his throat. Chris grimaced as he looked away from Fox's scowl. And probably not as damning was Falco and Wolf both breaking into laughter and high-fiving in their seats.
"...Okay, so why not just go for Cloud instead?" Fox asked, practically stuck with a death glare directed at the laughing animals.
"Master Hand said no," Chris continued to explain. "Surprisingly, when the news went out, a lot of people got interested in the match up. He said it would be a shame to go back and correct the error sooo here we are." Fox let out a loud, annoyed groan.
"Well..." Sephiroth finally decided to speak, amused by the screwed logic of the fight. "Cloud or Cloud in name only, I don't mind either way. It does get...repetitive to keep clashing swords with Cloud. A little variation is welcomed." He gripped Masamune's handle with both hands and aimed the absurdly sharp blade's tip towards Fox's face. Fox gulped, unsure if he could actually defeat or let alone fight against a person close to godhood with a sword twice longer than himself.
"Um, actual goddess in the stands over here," Palutena called out. She was ignored. "No, I wasn't," she said, but clearly the focus wasn't about her. "Damn you, narration."
"Uh-oh. Fight's about to start," Chris said. "Um, good luck, Fox. Your boots against the sword that only he can wield and can cleave through a mountain."
The vulpine, irritated, looked towards Chris. "How is that supposed to be encourag-?!" Fox was cut off right as the scene ended with a shot of Masamune about to skewer right through the side of his face.
Luckily, since this was a Smash Bros. fight, no blood was shed or bones were shattered cleanly in two, though it did give Fox nightmares and convinced him to change his last name to Zorro. It was unclear why he chose that for his last name.

Sephiroth can be unlocked early by clearing any difficulty of this challenge.
