🍪 Homemade Graham Crackers

Hi 🤍 Today I’m sharing how I make homemade graham crackers in my own kitchen.
They’re crispy, lightly spiced, and perfect for snacking ☕✨ or making a cheesecake crust 🍰

🛒 Ingredients

🥣 Dry
• 2 cups (250g) whole-wheat flour
• 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
• 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
• 1 tsp (6g) baking soda
• 1 tsp (3g) ground cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp (2g) ground cloves

🧈 Wet
• 1 cup (220g) unsalted butter (room temperature)
• 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
• 2 tbsp (30g) honey 🍯

👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step

1️⃣ Preheat & prep 🔥

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Line your trays with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Mix the dry ingredients 🥣

In a large bowl, whisk together:
whole-wheat flour + all-purpose flour + salt + baking soda + cinnamon + cloves
Mix until evenly combined ✨

3️⃣ Cream the wet ingredients 🧈🍯

In another bowl, add:
butter + brown sugar + honey
Mix until smooth and creamy 💛

4️⃣ Combine (mixer first → then by hand) 🤍
Add the dry mix gradually into the wet mix.
Mix with a mixer just until it looks crumbly and starts clumping.

✋ Then switch to hand:
Bring the dough together gently with your hands until it becomes one smooth dough.

⚠️ Tip: Don’t knead for long—your hands can warm the butter and soften the dough too much.

5️⃣ Divide the dough 🔪

Shape the dough into a log and cut into 2 equal pieces.
This makes rolling much easier 👍

6️⃣ Roll it out evenly 📜

Place one dough piece between two sheets of parchment paper.
Roll it out thin and even with a rolling pin ✨

💡 If it gets too soft/sticky, chill for 10–15 minutes ❄️

7️⃣ Cut into crackers 🔳

Remove the top parchment sheet.
Trim edges neatly, then cut into rectangles or squares.

♻️ Gather scraps, re-roll, and cut again—no waste!

8️⃣ Poke the holes 🍴

Use a fork to poke little holes on each cracker.
This helps them bake evenly and look classic 🤍

9️⃣ Bake ⏱️🔥

Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 10–12 minutes,
until dark golden brown.

⚠️ Watch closely—these can burn fast!

🔟 Cool & enjoy ☕🍓

Let them cool completely on a rack.
They get crispier as they cool ✨

With these measurements, I baked three full trays of graham crackers.

Enjoy with tea/coffee ☕, fruit 🍓, or crush for cheesecake crust 🍰

These homemade crackers are perfect for making a cheesecake crust.
