How Wine Is Made in a Factory (Winery Production Process)

Harvesting
Grapes are collected either by hand or machine when they reach the right sweetness and acidity.

Crushing & Destemming
Grapes are crushed to release juice.

Red wine keeps skins for color and tannins.

White wine removes skins early.

Fermentation
Yeast is added to the grape juice (must).
The yeast converts sugar → alcohol + CO₂.
This can take days to weeks.

Pressing (for red wine after fermentation)
Wine is separated from solid skins, stems, and seeds.

Aging / Maturation
Wine is aged in:

Stainless steel tanks (fresh, fruity wines)

Oak barrels (rich, complex flavor)
Aging can last from a few months to several years.

Clarification
Impurities are removed through filtering or fining so wine becomes clear.

Blending (optional)
Different batches or grape varieties are mixed to achieve perfect flavor.

Bottling
Wine is filled into bottles, sealed with corks or screw caps, labeled, and packed for distribution.
