DIY 200-year-old Barn RESTORE.. [2 year TIMELAPSE]

Описание к видео DIY 200-year-old Barn RESTORE.. [2 year TIMELAPSE]

In the 1850’s a team of skilled farmers built this barn using locally-sourced timber and stone. As a testament to the integrity of this barn and those who built it, this barn has survived for more than 150 years. With minimal Ad-hoc repair this barn has withstood years of abuse and is in need of serious restoration. Built in New England, this farm was home to just two families. The current family has held on to it since 1963 and has since converted it into an apple farm.

Home now to more than 8,000 apple trees and over 40 varieties this farm is getting a full renovation. My dad, cousins, uncles and I have spend more than 2 years on this restoration with hopes to bring it back to like-new condition. Concrete foundation with chilled storage, concrete flooring and new walls. The original timber that can be saved will remain in place. A large portion of what is there is unusable however, some of the hand hewn timber is still in good condition.

Though this barn restoration is less than half complete, it feels good to look back at what was and what could be. Luck has played a huge part in this project and it’s a miracle the barn has cooperated with such change. It has been raised more than 6 inches and driven north more than a foot. Using jacks and cables, one might almost think it’s square.
