Nyköping is a town, a port, and the capital of the Södermanland county, at about 100km south from Stockholm. It lies along the Baltic Sea, at the mouth of the Nyköping River. Nyköping is also the home of Stockholm Skavsta Airport which is located less than 10 kilometres from the city centre.
Nyköping Castle is a medieval castle, constructed at the end of the 12th century, and now The King’s Tower is the most visible portion.
