In which Eru has a unique way of dealing with writer's block, Silmarils are forever (so is elf-marriage), and you really shouldn't cross Isildur. I needed a whole 'nother video to even begin to examine how declarations like oaths, vows, and curses function in Middle-earth. (In case names like Turin, Feanor, Beren, Gollum, and Eowyn didn't clue you in, oaths are kind of a big deal.)
