When discussing whether or not the CIV VI AI is good or bad, it is important to keep in mind what the objective of the AI really is.

Understanding the goal for the human is simple: win the game.

In this video, I make the argument that the real objective of the AI is not to win the game—at least not in the sense that that is the objective for the humans. The AI, instead, is up to all sorts of other things that happen in the background that the human simply takes for granted. Its real objective is completely different from those of us who boot up the game again and again, looking for just one more turn.

So, the real question is: Does the CIV VI AI meet its objective when it plays the game?
