Описание к видео Grumman F-14B Tomcat, US Navy VF-101 Grim Reapers, "Tomato", 1995, Century Wings 1:72 Diecast

US Navy Attack Fighter Squadron 101 (VF-101) Grim Reapers was established on May 1st, 1952 at NAS Cecil Field, Florida, flying the FG-1D Corsair. The squadron quickly moved into the jet era with the F2H-2 Banshee while in Korea. After progressing through the F4D-1 Skyray, F3H-2 Demon and F-4 Phantom II, the squadron began flying the F-14 Tomcat in January 1976. The Grim Reapers went on to fly the Tomcat for almost 30 years before being disestablished in September 2005. F-14B #162923 wore this dazzling paint scheme briefly in September/October 1995. The generous use of red paint earned it the nickname "Tomato".
And this aircraft is the subject of this video. Produced by Century Wings in 1:72 diecast it is a fantastic representation of that aircraft. With a limited 1200 pieces made, this makes it a must have for any Tomcat collector.

Use of any images or video in any of my reviews is used out of pure respect in regard to units and/or actual people. I wish to acknowledge all those that have served past and present with their respective nations armed forces with some making the ultimate sacrifice. Political ideals aside, it takes great courage and selflessness to answer your countries call.

Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.
Cheers
