An original workflow program designed for Ableton Live 11 for Mac OSX.

The goal with this project was to create a seamless workflow for adding a new midi or audio track to an existing project where latency is an issue. Often with producing music on DAWs, while it varies with cpu, we generally can only tolerate so many individual tracks with various effects before our latency becomes impossible to make music with. My program eliminates the amount of time spent on annoying trivialities in order to simply add one or two more parts to an existing set.

All the steps of my program:
Assumption: you save your exported .wav or .aiff file in the same directory as your current project in Ableton

1. My program is notified when a new .wav or .aiff file is created in your main Ableton Project Directory only when it ends in an underscore "_" followed by the name of an existing template.
2. After that happens, a custom auto save as method creates a name for your current set as "your set name" + "_" + "to" + "template_name", making it easy to locate what set you're returning to when you're done recording your part.
3. After your current set is saved, the program opens a pre existing template with the name you specified in the .wav or .aiff file.
4 Then bpm is loaded without the need for an Ableton analysis file, and the marker is placed on measure two of the first audio track.
5. The previously exported .wav or .aiff is loaded into the first audio track.
6. Auto Save As happens again, naming the set after the name of your .wav or .aiff file, for example "your set name_AddMidiBass

And at this point, you are ready to easily record a low latency midi or audio part, and easily locate the previous set all within the current project browser directly in Ableton. Happy Music Making!
