BLETM（Bluetooth Low Energy Text Terminal）は、iOS上で動作するBLE通信アプリです。

Hello, this is TANI-Lab!
Today, we tried a super simple IoT project — reading temperature and pressure data from the BMP280 sensor using an ESP32, and displaying it on an iPhone via BLE.

Usually, when working with sensors, we check the values on a serial monitor, right?
But having to open a PC every time... it doesn’t really feel like IoT, does it?

Wouldn’t it be much cooler if you could just glance at the data on your smartphone?
That’s why we used BLE to send the sensor data to a smartphone — making it a “just-look” style IoT system!

On the iPhone, we’re using an app called BLETM (BLE Text Terminal).
It’s super convenient as a dedicated display terminal — it shows the text data sent over BLE exactly as it is.

While it’s not completely free, it’s very affordable and offered as a subscription with solid support.

For this setup, we only used an ESP32 and a BMP280 module.
Just connect them via I2C, and send the sensor data as text over BLE.
The code is minimal and can be quickly uploaded from the Arduino IDE.

This time, we tried a simple “view-only” IoT project — but it's surprisingly satisfying!
Just connecting your smartphone over BLE gives the whole thing a futuristic feel, doesn’t it?
