'Iran made a major mistake and it will pay for it', says Israeli PM | Middle East conflict

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Iran made a "major mistake" in attacking Israel, warning that the country will "pay for" its actions.

Mr Netanyahu said Iranian forces launched "dozens of missiles" at Israel - but the attack was "thwarted thanks to Israel's air defence system", which he described as "the most advanced in the world".

He added: "We are going to adhere to the rule that we set for ourselves; those who attack us, we attack them."
