This temple is situated a few miles away from Kolkata on the north west side of the city. A famous temple of "Ma Bhabatarini/Dakshineshwari" along with 12 Jyotirlinga tempel & Radha Krishna temple on the same compound at the eastern side of the river Ganga. As the main deity of Ma Kali is facing southward the temple is called "DAKHSHINESHWAR" where Dakshin means South & Ishwar means God/Goddess.
