How to open a garage door with a phone - convert to Smart Opener Alert System

This is a neat little device that allows me to open or close my garage door from anywhere in the world. It also sends me alerts if the door opens and I'm not at home. Among other things, it has an auto timer that makes sure the garage shuts if it has accidentally been left open.
