I was so excited to experience the “changing of the guards” at Arlington National Cemetery, VA on October 24,2022. We viewed the final resting place and eternal flame of JFK and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis as well as their 2 deceased infant children. We took the narrated tram tour as this cemetery is massive. They perform many funerals here daily and on this day there were 26 funerals.
The changing of the guards is mesmerizing. We watched one guard pace back and forth for his full hour waiting on the change. I’ve NEVER been some place with that many people crowded in and it be dead silent! Very moving experience, one I’ll never forget.
